I believe this film is no longer, technically, just a sequel to "Man of Steel." This is a "Justice League" setup that just happens to feature Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman, while Ben Affleck takes over the reigns as Batman. I still find this strange that, with Christopher Nolan as producer, THIS take on the Batman character has nothing to do with the Nolan-verse "Dark Knight" Batman. We again are seeing another re-iteration of a character just a few years removed from a previous motion picture with the same character, much like Sony's dumb-assed decision to reboot "Spider-Man" into even MORE shittier movies.
I have high hopes for this film, but something about the production (and all of the characters from Justice League they are soon to be jamming down our throats) sounds too much like DC is rushing to cash in on some of the good fortune that Marvel has had with all of the "Avengers"-based films.
"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" will arrive in the summer of 2016, whether you want it to or not.
